"Everyone's favorite crack-smoking mayor,
Rob Ford,
probably thought late-night American television was
going to be a bunch of chuckles—until the host suggested he enter a rehab program. On Jimmy Kimmel Live,
Ford appeared uncomfortable but laughed through most of the ribbing, which included videos
of his most embarrassing moments. At one point, though,
Kimmel
went serious and said that if he's an alcoholic, and drinking enough that he would try crack cocaine
in his forties, "and you don't remember it, maybe that's something that you might want to think about, like
talking to somebody." Ford's response:
I “wasn't
elected to be perfect.”
"Understatement of the year."

Creativity. Graphic designers must be able to think of new approaches to communicating ideas to consumers. They develop unique designs that convey a recognizable meaning on behalf of their clients.

Artistic ability. Graphic designers must be able to create designs that are artistically interesting and appealing to clients and consumers. They produce rough illustrations of design ideas, either by hand sketching or by using a computer program.

Graphic design is the art of communication, stylizing, and problem-solving through the use of type, space, and image. The field is considered a subset of visual communication and communication design, but sometimes the term "graphic design" is used interchangeably with these due to overlapping skills involved.

A graphic designer reports to the art director, creative director or senior media creative. As a designer becomes more senior, they may spend less time designing media and more time leading and directing other designers on broader creative activities, such as brand development and corporate identity development. They are often expected to interact more directly with clients, for example taking and interpreting briefs.

Afterwards, a flattering filter is applied. Outlines are blurred, colors are softened, .....

All of this is the work of an instant. Then, with a single tap, you are ready to upload: to" Google plus, "Twitter, to Facebook, to Instagram, each likeness accompanied by a self-referential hashtag. Your image is retweeted and tagged and shared. Your screen fills with thumbs-up signs and heart-shaped emoticons. You are "liked" several times over. You feel a shiver of – what, exactly? Approbation? Reassurance? Existential calm? Whatever it is, it's addictive. Soon, you repeat the whole process, trying out a different pose. Again and again, you offer yourself up for public consumption."

Advice: Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook 2014

"Growing up on a _______, with six brothers and sisters, it was drummed into me from an _____ ___ that humility is a ________, and bragging, well… not so much. My parents, both ________ to the core, told us that if we worked hard, and did a good job (at school, in athletics, or elsewhere) we’d be ____________ for our ______ and rewarded accordingly.

For the most part, it was _________ advice. ____, in today’s competitive ____, if your plan to get ahead is based on the assumption that hard work alone will _________, you may find yourself being left behind as the ______  __________ around you land the opportunities you _____ were yours...
That’s not to say that humility is no longer a virtue. But ____  _______ can leave you languishing. Indeed, there’s a distinct difference between tooting one’s horn to stroke a ____ or insecure ego (which is, after all, why _______ brag) and sharing information that ___________ relevant people about who you are, the ___ you have to offer, and how you’d like to ________  ___ of it."
